1. Insurance Coverage at a Glance

Every tenant is automatically covered with a basic sum insured of €1,000 (obligatory coverage). An increase in the sum insured is optionally available via the booking portal.

The sum insured can be increased via the booking portal in steps of €1,000 to a total of up to €20,000 (optional coverage). In the event of an increase, the sum insured must correspond to the full replacement value of all stored goods. Underinsurance will be taken into account in the event of a claim – however, the basic coverage up to €1,000 remains unaffected.

5. Replacement Value in Case of a Claim

Private Individuals

The necessary costs of replacement or restoration at the time of damage assessment are reimbursed – without deduction for “new for old”. If the current value of an item is less than 40% of the replacement value, the current value is the maximum reimbursement.

Commercial Customers

  • New goods: Purchase price plus customs, freight and all costs to the warehouse, including 10% anticipated profit
  • Used goods: Replacement costs
  • Already sold goods: Selling price
  • Used machinery and capital goods: New value; if the current value is below 40% of the new value, the current value applies
  • Third-party goods (e.g. consignment goods): contractually agreed purchase price

6. Scope of Coverage

Insurance coverage applies exclusively to the contents of the rented storage box or container.

  • Parking spaces, open areas, and vehicles or items stored there are not covered by the supplementary insurance.
  • Vehicles on the premises must be covered by a valid motor vehicle liability insurance.

In the event of a claim, please proceed as follows:

  • Report the claim immediately and directly to WECOYA MARINE Underwriting GmbH.

  • Have proof of the damaged or lost items ready (e.g. purchase receipts, invoice copies, photos, inventory list).
  • If possible, do not alter the damage site until the assessment is complete.
